In your life you will encounter many individuals that will inspire, acquiesce, impress in some fashion or cause you to revolt or retract. The important thing to remember is your mission or goals and what is important to you and those important to you.
You will always encounter nay-sayers, negative nancy’s and other bad actors. You will also meet up with incredibly supportive individuals that have hearts of gold and wish you the very best that life can give.
Like any other worthwhile pursuit, I think mastering your emotions goes a long way in obtaining success in your training, health and life.
While everyone has their own individualistic approach, I am often taken aback at the trainee (and keyboard warrior/troll) that is overt and loud, causing a scene and causing the rest of the gym/area/group etc. to take notice of his set/ideas or remarks by making a spectacle.
These individuals generally fade when the audience fades. Their energy is contingent on the attention they garner. The very existence of their negativity is the attention they sadly are addicted to.
I feel true strength, power and energy is internalized and comes from your very core. It goes beyond sets, reps, costume, pageantry, audience or any other external force.
It doesn’t matter if you train in the hottest new gym/facility or your garage or basement. What matters is the progression of your individual goals, with an eye to always getting a bit closer to what you want to achieve. Day in day out reaching further to realize your dreams. Using roadblocks as stepping stones in realization of your goals.
Truth is, in the end, this (health & fitness lifestyle) is a very interpersonal endeavor and most of what we do at a certain point is
autonomous and insignificant in general context, but the continuous attention and application results in incredible outcomes and is truly inspiring.
Either we enjoy the process for what it is and that is the process or we burn out and it fades away. For my like-minded brothers and sisters, this is a lifestyle and that will never change. Embrace it if you will.
Love the process.
Don’t be discouraged by those that feign having your best interest in mind (while serving their own.) Keep your goals and aspirations true to your values and what you believe in. Do good by the people you love and care about (and love and care about you.) The rest do not matter. Intuitively you will know who is an ally/friend and who is not. Keep that focus pointed towards your destiny. Realize your dreams and be the difference and inspire.
