A labor of love.
Yesterday’s training consisted of 48 sets (all singles) leading up to a challenging, yet doable max. (for each of 4 basic movements.time of workout approx 1 hour, 15 min)
Today, I did the exact same scheme, but with 24 sets (2 reps) and pounded into new territory.
The goal is to turn the max set into new progress, new echelons, break plateaus that haven’t yet been ventured into.
No matter your goals, if you are doing things naturally, it still comes down to the strength you posses. It still is intelligently adding weight to the bar or movement.
The pharma-enhanced can bang away at fixed machinery/iso movements and build muscle regardless. Those of us that are natural still need to do the bare-bones basics and do them frequently and logically.
This means that we need to have a very different approach than those that enlist help from a doctor’s script or God knows where. lol
The last 3+ years have been purely experimental. Personal achievement/goals have taken a back seat.
There have been all sorts of failures, but every once in a while and increasingly, a magical moment, a positive improvement. These are quietly appreciated, accepted and stored away.
Getting closer and closer everyday.
