Relating Ben Franklin’s value of Chastity to our fitness values took some broad thought.
Chastity is oftentimes associated with sexuality and abstinence, but in relation to our fitness values we can look at chastity as purity.
Purity is described as being untainted.
Being Chaste is being simple.
A few months back due to circumstance I broke down my training to bare-bones.
These training sessions were the ultimate in minimalism, all the while strengthening the body as a whole.
I did three exercises.
One of the great seductions of the modern health club is the endless machina that can supposedly stimulate muscle fiber from every angle, flexure and flexion.
While being somewhat interesting from a physiological perspective, I personally find it a bit over the top that a rear-delt machine is a necessary commodity and actually demands a market.
Actually if I wasn’t blessed with my own basic free weight setup in my basement, I could get a great session in at a local park with some dips & pull-ups variations, some sprints and maybe a push-up variation.
Building the body is more simple than what the magazines will tell you.
Basic compound movements with progression will give you more results than angle and target training.
Results are even more distinct if you get yourself into a low body fat percentage.
So when planning your next session think quality of movement over the flavor of the month machine in accordance to your personal goals.
Your results will be true and pure.
