After a few weeks of crazy heat humidity, we have had a couple very nice summer days. Summer always seems like the season that flies by the fastest. Once you get to the fourth of July, it seems like fall arrives rapidly.
Today, I broke out one of my training sessions from the archives. I used to do these type of workouts fairly often to take advantage of the fresh air & sunlight, and while I work on my new template for Monday, I figured it was a good way to get some work in, without too much physio-stress.
Running 1 mile (no time kept, fairly easy pace, probably around 7:30), then to the playground for 50 neutral grip pull-ups (5 sets of 10) supersetted with 50 very wide grip dips (5 sets of 10)–this was done on step railings of something like a jungle gym, probably nearly 3 feet width (not a good idea to attempt if you have any shoulder issues.) Finished with another 1 mile run, same pace as the first mile. The whole process probably took around 20 minutes.
I have to add, I did this training directly after I pushed mowed two lawns. Usually, I would do the training first, but I wasn’t sure about time constraints. Basically burned a ton of calories.
